The Washington State Fair Set to Open Its Doors September 5th

The Washington State Fair once again opens its doors to the public for 17 days of family fun!  The Fair is one of the largest in the nation and has been running for over 100 years, providing visitors with fantastic entertainment with events such as concerts, rodeos, attractions, exhibitions, shopping, rides and food.  It also offers unique educational experiences in agriculture and farming.

Come and see great concert acts such as Country singers Toby Keith, Florida Georgia Line, Jennifer Nettles and Keith Urban, classic rock artists REO Speedwagon and Chicago, or Hermans Hermits, or enjoy the comedy stylings of Jeff Dunham.

If you’re a rodeo fan, come and see the 81st Washington State Fair Rodeo and watch some roping, riding, racing and wrestling!

We have rides for all ages, including the newest ride, the Rainier Rush, our newest roller coaster that’s inverted!  And all of the classics are still here including the Classic Coaster, the Enterprise, Matterhorn, Rat Race, Scooters, Wildcat and Zipper!

If you’re in the mood for food, we’ve got you covered!  New this year is the Fair Game Sports Bar, where you can take a break from the fair activities to watch your favorite team play and enjoy a frosty beverage. If you love Bacon, we got bacon at Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!   Bacon Burgers, bacon on a stick, chocolate covered bacon and waffle fried bacon!  We’ve got your potato cravings covered at Saucy Spuds and Gourmet Fries, where you can build your fries will all sorts of toppings.  If you’re in the mood for a buffalo wing-style sandwich, there’s Grinder’s Sandwiches.  And the new Blue Couch Lounge is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before your show, with video screens to make sure you’re not missing a moment of your concert.

Even with all of the new food, we still have you covered with the classics such as Fisher Scones, Earthquake burgers and Krusty Pups!

And if that’s note enough entertainment for you, there’s several attractions including the Vision Dome – a 360 degree panoramic video on a projection screen.  Or you can see a photo exhibition of Splendid Sichuan, featuring breathtaking 3’ by 4’ photos from the Sichuan Province.  There is also free music and shows throughout the day from the Coca-Cola Stage, the Mountain Mist Stage, the Fountain Plaza Stage or the Showplace Stage.

We still have all of the great animal exhibits for the kids and adults as well, including the Piglet Palace, the Draft Horse and Driving Demonstrations and the Fair Farm.

There are a ton of great arts and culture exhibits throughout the fair, including the Fine Arts Show, Artists in Action, Grange Displays and a Photo Salon.

Whatever it is you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it at the Washington State Fair!  For more information, head to http://www.thefair.com!
